Valentia Lecture 2019

On 12th July 2019, we marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Cyrus W. Field in our annual lecture series with the theme of

“ Globalisation – Our Interconnected and interdependent World “

Our international panel of speakers featured:

  • Mr. Seán Páircéir, Global Head for Investor Services for Brown Brothers Harriman
  • Mr. Kevin O'Malley, Former US Ambassador to Ireland
  • Mr. Pascal Donohoe, TD, Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure

Fiona Stack of Radio Kerry facilitated a panel discussion with our speakers addressing questions from the audience on topics ranging from the UNESCO process to the possible impacts of cryptocurrencies on international markets and regulation.

Our annual gala was held in the Royal Valentia Hotel including the official launch by Mr. Kevin O'Malley of “An tOileánach - The Voices of Valentia” by Michael Lyne.
